Frequently asked questions
Questions you may have if you’re considering business-process automation and AI.
What is business-process automation?
Put simply, it means using suitable technology to handle repeatable steps, move information and prompt actions more consistently.
People can, and should, remain responsible for decisions and exceptions.
Do we need to understand AI?
No. We start with the business problem and explain options in plain language. Let us worry about the technology.
Will AI replace our employees?
Our focus is removing repetitive work and helping people work more effectively. Appropriate human roles, checks and approvals can, and should, remain in place.
Can you work with our existing spreadsheets and systems?
Often, yes, where suitable and secure connections are available. We review the current setup before recommending an approach.
Do we have to automate everything at once?
No. A focused first phase around one troublesome process is often a sensible way to begin.
Once you’ve seen how much time and frustration an automated process can save you, you’ll be keen to explore where else in your business you can introduce similar efficiency improvements.
How do you protect business and personal information?
Security and privacy requirements are considered during design.
Exact controls depend on the systems, data and agreed scope.
Here at Real World Projects Limited we have over 2 decades’ experience in protecting sensitive data (including government and military projects).
Will a person check AI-generated work?
Human review and approval can, and should, be included wherever accuracy, judgement or responsibility requires it.
Can you support the system after launch?
Yes. Ongoing support, monitoring and controlled improvement can form part of the service.
You’ll be left with comprehensive notes on set-ups and will be able to manage things yourself, but we can be on-call after your new system goes live if you prefer to make any changes you find become necessary (e.g. to adapt to new ways of working, new product/service revenue streams, staff changes etc.).
How much does an automation project cost?
Cost depends on the process, complexity, integrations and support required.
Projects can begin with a focused first phase.
We price with SMEs in mind though and the solutions we suggest will always save you money over the way you’re currently managing processes. That’s the whole point of AI/automation, to take away the work that need not be done by your talented staff, releasing them to do more productive, money-earning tasks instead.
How do we get started?
Tell us about the process, who uses it and what currently causes delay, duplication or frustration.
